So Has Their Strategy Worked?
Absolutely. Ever since T-Mobile made the switch to the no annual contract approach, their industry wide low cost competitive strategy has increased sales significantly. T-Mobile has found a way to differentiate between all other carriers by setting up a system that does not lock in the customer to a 2-year contract, which makes T-Mobile affordable for existing and future customers and appeals to those hesitant to commit to a service provider. T-Mobile’s management information system (QuikView) is the main operating system which has complete access to all accounts and information within these accounts. QuikView is a single screen system of T-Mobile that allows agents and sales/store associates to view multiple key indicators rather than having to pull everything up on separate windows which was the issue before. Now that everything is available on one window it is more accessible for the sales/store reps and also more convenient for the customer, allowing customers to be in and out of the store in moment’s time. Stream lining this process has enabled T-Mobile to succeed in sales and customer service, giving T-Mobile a secure niche in the market and has positioned them to be a strong player in the industry.
* The drastic price drop in May 2013 is indicative of a reverse stock split, which has nearly doubled since that time
